Little Big Town Tickets - Finally, Not So Little by Brent Warnken
It's a new year for country pop quartet Little Big Town, who after years of performing together with well known country acts has finally made it as a headliner. The group is starting the New Year right with a headlining tour that begins just as soon as 2009 does. Perhaps this is the result of the group's record change, which happened just after the release of the group's third album, A Place to Land. After their move from Equity Music Group to Capitol Records and the re-release of A Place to Land, Little Big Town wasn't so little anymore. Still reeling off the success of these country studs? Just as much as Kimberly Schlapman, Karen Fairchild, Jimi Westbrook and Phil Sweet are basking in the success, you can be too with your own Little Big Town tickets.
With four new tracks, including the live Sugarland and Jack Owen collaboration "Life in a Northern Town," Little Big Town's latest revamping has led to some serious good. "We want to world to hear this music," Schlapman says on the band's webpage. "It's our heart and soul. It's who we are, and we put so much of ourselves into it. It's how we tell the story of our lives." Revealing this much has allowed both members of the band and their fans to understand the relationship and lives of Little Big Town even more. "We're getting a boost of creativity from being in a new situation," Sweet says. "This music is really feeling alive and fresh for us." And you'll feel that freshness as well when you see Little Big Town live and in concert with tickets.
After years traveling with George Strait, Martina McBride, Sugarland and Carrie Underwood, the country rock crooners from the South are finally getting the spotlight themselves as they return to the road in January for a tour of their own. Deemed "A Place to Land Tour," the group will visit cities across the nation and impress mainstream audiences more than ever. The group's new website launched December 16th with live performances and video chat Q&A; As the group streamlined digitally to fans around the world they were also celebrating another launch, that of their third Grammy nomination for the Sugarland/Owen single.
The platinum selling country artists first started with Georgians Schlapman and Fairchild who knew each other in college. Fairchild's husband's friend Jimi Westbrook came aboard not much longer, finally followed by Phil Sweet in 1998, and the group was officially complete. Landing a deal with the Dixie Chicks' Monument Records in 2000 the group got a quick start on recording with the label and started releasing singles by 2002. The debut was inspired by the group's a-typical country music interests, everything from contemporary pop to '70s funk and rock and roll, the group managed to redefine the country music genre in just their first effort. Writing almost every song themselves, the youngsters initially struggled with acceptance in the genre they grew up loving, but as commercial success came instantly (the album hit Billboard's Heatseekers and Top Country Albums charts), critics came around eventually.
